Österreichischer ReiseVerband (ÖRV)

The ÖRV, founded in 1961, is the independent and neutral representative body for the interests of major Austrian travel agencies and tour operators. Its members include around 400 travel agency branches and 85 institutions and companies from all areas of tourism. They account for more than 80% of Austria's total tourism turnover. The ÖRV is a platform for members to exchange ideas and develop future-oriented industry solutions. It provides its members with the necessary information, offers technical and legal advice, and organises training courses in cooperation with other organisations. As an independent association, the ÖRV maintains direct contact with the relevant political bodies and all service providers in the tourism sector. It is committed to sustainable tourism. The ÖRV is the point of contact for international associations and European committees in Brussels and raises awareness among the public and politicians of the importance of the travel industry as an economic factor.
