Hotel St. Petersinsel

Hotel St. Petersinsel St. Petersinsel, situated on Lake Biel, is owned by the Burgergemeinde Bern, as is the Hotel St. Petersinsel. The origins of the monastery complex date back to the 12th century, whilst those of the hotel date back to the 19th century. Since 1 January 2025, Swiss Design Collection AG has been the tenant and operator of the Hotel St. Petersinsel. The hotel currently has 20 guest rooms. Following the conversion of existing spaces, this number is set to rise to 34 by spring 2027. Furthermore, further building renovations will enable year-round operation. In addition to the hotel and its restaurant, Swiss Design Collection AG operates the self-service restaurant ‘Le Jardin’ on St. Petersinsel, as well as the ‘Rive’ kiosk on the Nordländte. The peninsula is a national, cantonal and regional nature reserve subject to strict conservation regulations. It can be reached on foot, by bike, by the ‘Navette’ taxi boat or by scheduled ferry.
