Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola

Built in 1880 as the residence of the Von Ritter family, Russian nobles, Villa Castagnola was purchased in 1885 by a young Swiss couple from the Schnyder von Wartensee family and converted into a hotel. In 1982, the property was acquired by a Ticino family from Lugano, who had the hotel extensively renovated to restore the villa to its former glory – combined with the most modern comforts. Each of the 39 rooms and 33 suites offers a breathtaking view of the lake or the park. The kitchen crew led by Alessandro Boleso is highly qualified too. The culinary offer is provided by three in-house restaurants: the two gourmet restaurants «Arté al Lago» (16 points Gault-Millau) and «Le Relais» (15 points Gault-Millau) plus the Easy Dining restaurant «La Rucola». The hotel also has a tennis court, ten meeting and banqueting rooms, as well as a wellness area, an indoor pool with access to the park, a Clarins Beauty Corner, an in-house hairdressing salon and a private Lido Club on the lake.
